We were very kindly invited to dine at The Boxford near Newbury and wow what a lovely experience!

Upon arrival, what strikes you first is the amazing building – it is pitch-roofed and thatch covered exuding a contemporary feel that still fits in well with the rural landscape.

Inside, The Boxford boasts a warm, modern layout with the bar and informal seating area upon entry and the set tables lying beyond which sit aside the wonderful open kitchen – we loved that you can see the kitchen team in action.

The Boxford prides itself on producing authentic Italian food which was delicious and you could certainly feel Head Chef Mirko’s Sicilian heritage coming through. All beautifully washed down with signature cocktails which were simply sublime!

The team – headed by General Manager Bert, were attentive and friendly. Our children were happy to be presented with colouring equipment while they waited for dinner and even more ecstatic to see their ice cream desert which allowed them to decorate their cone with a choice of sprinkles, chocolate shavings, marshmallows and 3 mouth-watering sauces!

The Boxford offers an elegant, welcoming and easy-going environment to enjoy delicious cuisine for the whole family – It has certainly joined our list of top places to dine in Berkshire
