Tips for Enjoying Fireworks with Young Children
Fireworks nights can be magical, but a little preparation goes a long way, particularly with toddlers and younger children.
Wrap up warm: Hats, gloves, waterproof coats and cosy layers are essential for chilly November evenings.
Bring ear defenders: Even children who love fireworks can find the noise overwhelming.
Arrive early: Give yourselves time to park, find a good viewing spot and enjoy the activities before the display.
Consider a low-noise display: Thatcham's event could be a good starting point for children who are sensitive to loud noises, although low-noise fireworks are not completely silent.
Keep little ones close: Fireworks events can get very busy and dark, so make sure everyone stays together.
Check the weather: Displays may be postponed or cancelled in strong winds or severe weather.
Which Fireworks Display Will You Choose?
Whether you're heading to Newbury Racecourse for a big spectacular, enjoying a traditional village bonfire in Chieveley or trying Thatcham's low-noise display, there are plenty of opportunities to make some lovely family memories this autumn.
We'll continue adding events as more local displays are announced.
