From Halloween crafts and creepy creations to woodland adventures, spooky stories and live entertainment, there’s plenty going on in the run-up to Halloween and throughout the October half term.

Kick off half term with a Halloween concert featuring a live band, performers and plenty of spooky favourites, including Monster Mash, The Time Warp and Thriller.
Fancy dress is encouraged too, with a prize for the best costume, so dig out your best Halloween outfits! The show runs for approximately 2 hours 20 minutes, including an interval.

Come along in your favourite Halloween costume for a spooky story followed by a Halloween craft to make and take home.
The session is led by actor, voice artist and audiobook narrator Fran Burgoyne, with all craft materials provided. Advance booking is required.

Enjoy a scarily good time at Cobbs Play Barn this half term with a special Halloween craft session.
Children can enjoy free play in the Play Barn, a sweet treat and unlimited squash, as well as getting creative and making their very own Halloween spider to take home.

Halloween at City Arts Newbury
City Arts Newbury has gone big on Halloween creativity this year, with a fantastic selection of spooky workshops taking place throughout October and over half term.
Get creative with Mandy Allport in this Halloween-themed workshop.
When: Saturday 17 October
Children can get creative with glass and make their own spooky fused-glass creation.
When: Wednesday 28 October, 10am–11am
Please note: This session is currently showing as sold out, but it may be worth checking for cancellations.
Another Halloween glass-fusing workshop, this time giving children the chance to create their own Halloween lantern.

A wonderfully creepy creative session with Katherine Kingdon – perfect for children who enjoy getting stuck into arts and crafts.

Get creative with Charlotte Adcock in this Halloween-themed safe printing workshop.
When: Saturday 31 October, 10am–11.30am
Children can have a go at Halloween-themed lino printing with Charlotte Adcock – a great option for older children who enjoy art and making.

Get crafty at The Base this half term and create a spooky spider sculpture using natural willow.
A lovely hands-on Halloween activity for creative kids and something a little different to try during half term.

Where: The Base, Greenham
Head to the Nature Discovery Centre this half term for a spooky Halloween adventure through the nature reserve.
Follow the story of the Wild Witch as you make your way around the circular trail, learning about wildlife and helping her gather everything she needs to brew a magical potion and transform herself into a fantastic creature!
The trail takes around 1–1.5 hours to complete, making this a lovely way to get outdoors with the kids during half term. Visitors are asked to start the trail by 1.30pm.
When: Monday 26–Friday 30 October, 10am–3pm

Head into the woods this half term for some spooky outdoor fun with Naturally Curious Play.
Children can enjoy Halloween-themed woodland play, seasonal activities and plenty of opportunities to explore, create and get messy in nature.
There are sessions especially for little ones, as well as afternoon sessions open to children up to 10 years old.
When: Tuesday 27 & Friday 30 October
Morning session: 10am–11.30am – children aged 8 months–5 years
Afternoon session: 12.30pm–2pm – children aged 10 and under

Pop on the PJs and head along to Blue Beetle Ceramics for some pumpkin-themed creative fun especially for preschoolers.
This is a lovely Halloween option for younger children and families looking for something creative and a little less spooky this October.
