VICTORIA PARK

The playground at Victoria Park is one of Newbury’s most popular family destinations.Located right in the centre of town, alongside the Kennet & Avon Canal and close to Parkway Shopping, the playground is easy to reach.

The park has some great features (some are currently out of action and are being repaired). The park has 2 areas, for younger and older age groups. It has a great climbing frame for the little ones with 3 slides, 4 swings, a zip wire, and plenty more for all ages.

   NATURE DISCOVERY CENTRE, THATCHAM

   
   

If you’re looking for a family day out that mixes play, nature, and adventure, the Nature Discovery Centre in Thatcham is hard to beat.

There are 2 great playgrounds playground, where little explorers can climb, swing, and slide while you enjoy the fresh air (and maybe a takeaway coffee from the café!).

The walk around the lake is perfect for toddlers. The cafe sells duck food, so do grab some before you head out on a walk! Keep your eyes peeled for dragonflies, herons, and even the odd kingfisher.

The on-site café has you covered with sandwiches, cakes, and coffee. There’s indoor seating with a little activity area, as well as a viewing area upstairs. The outdoor terrace with lovely when the sun is out, and look over the lake.

Don’t miss the year-round children’s activities. Seasonal trails, bug hunts, craft workshops, and the much-loved Nature Tots sessions give kids a chance to get hands-on with wildlife and learn through play.
