4 Kingdoms adventure park is on the Newbury road, en route between Newbury and Basingstoke. It is a fun filled day on the farm set in 40 acres of land with 2 apparently enchanted lakes to explore. The park was re-opened by new owners in March 2013 and they have worked really hard to ensure a lovely family friendly day is on offer.
You can pay on entrance (a family of 4 will set you back £36) or you can buy tickets online which is slightly cheaper (£34 for a family of 4) and then, excluding food and drink, everything else is included-even the slot rides. They do face painting and glitter tattoos, so you can let your little ones really indulge.
Once you go through the main entrance you are in the main building with a small gift shop (these are chargeable), face painting and tattoos off to the left and straight ahead is the café serving a range of hot and cold food, ice creams and drinks. There is a number of seats and plenty of plastic high chairs on offer. A burger and chips costs £5, sandwiches start from £2.95 and jacket potatoes cost £4.25. They have also provided a microwave so that you can heat baby milk and food if needed.
If you then carry on through and take a left you arrive at the hand-washing area and past this is the animal barn and handling room. You can walk round and see ponies and sheep, chipmunks, chickens and chicks, ducklings and rabbits. There is a timetable on the wall letting you know of the various times you can come and handle the different animals or meet by the river and walk with the sheep.
Back out and further through and there is more seating, an electric go-cart track (for children over 1 metre), a toddler soft play area and indoor play-zone for your older ones. Also you’ll find the girls, boys and disabled toilet, each one has a wooden baby changing shelf for your convenience (if you have a travel changing mat, you may want to remember it for baby’s comfort).
Outside of the main building you’ll find an abundance of picnic tables, some with parasols for shade. There’s a large hump slide and zip wire, a miniature village to explore, climbing frames, small slides and a pedal go cart track that runs round a goat’s pen. There are also several trampolines, a land train, bouncy castle (a separate one on offer for toddlers) and animal paddocks to go and visit your favourite farm friends.
